GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Provides general dental care to all Indiana Health Centers, Inc. (IHC) clients consistent with but not limited to the
IHC dental health care plan and scope of services. Responsible to the Medical Director and works closely with the
Site Medical Director, practice manager and Dental Services Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides general dental care to patients including proper documentation for quality review and billing purposes.
Follows established standards, practices and protocols.
Supervises, with the assistance of the practice manager, the dental assistants, dental hygienists and other assigned
personnel.
Develops, implements and maintains site specialty referral arrangements.
Regularly confers with the practice manager on issues regarding dental services and patient care: to include clinical
budget, staffing, data collection and interpretation, clinic flow, appointment systems, client recall process, scope of
practice and ancillary services.
Serves as a member of the local management team if appropriate. With the local management team, monitors
monthly reports to ensure that patient care is being delivered in a quality and cost effective manner and other clinical
resources (staff hours, supplies, drugs) are being utilized appropriately and within budgetary guidelines.
Represents the local health center before the community and in contacts with the local dental society and dental
community.
QUALIFICATIONS
Unlimited license to practice dentistry in the state of Indiana.
DEA certified
